Frequently asked questions

Is your honey raw?

Yes. It’s raw, unpasteurised and free from additives.

How do I know it’s pure?

You can’t tell at home, because adulteration has outpaced every kitchen test. We test every batch against all 20 lab parameters and it has to pass them all. You’re always welcome to ask us for the report.

Why has my honey turned solid?

That’s natural crystallisation, and it only happens to real honey. It’s like coconut oil, which hardens in winter and runs in summer. Keep the jar in warm water and stir gently to liquefy it.

Why do your honeys taste different from each other?

Bees make honey from whatever is flowering around them, so each flower, farm and forest gives a different taste.

Where does your honey come from?

From beekeepers across India, including farms where we place bee boxes. Our aim is for beekeeping to become a normal part of farming.

Do I need any experience for the beekeeping training?

A small group spends the day with live hives, learning how bees live and how to handle them safely. There’s time for questions, and a South Indian vegetarian lunch is included.
